AR VIRTUAL PET

The idea behind this game was to combine Augmented Reality technology with Artificial Intelligence to create a tamagotchi-style virtual pet that could interact with the real world. The AR allows the pet to exist in the real world through a phone camera, and the player can fulfil the needs of the pet and complete challenges by finding real world objects, such as:

- food to satisfy the pet's hunger

- people and animals to satisfy its social need

- toys, books and electronics to satisfy its entertainment need

The app also challenges the player to go on real-world scavenger hunts in order to unlock customisable looks and outfits for the pet

The number of objects the pet can interact with is limited to what image datasets the AR object detection model is trained on, but this is a great proof of concept, and shows how different technologies can be combined to create something innovative.
